Parapente en Salta

IMPORTANT: Currently they are not performing flights as there are no qualified instructors.

The city of Salta and its surroundings are a perfect location for paragliding enthusiasts and beginners who are looking for their baptism flight. Lerma Valley itself regulates the weather and generates ideal flying conditions for paragliding beginners and first-timers. A tandem flight (ie. with an instructor) is a great way to see Salta from the air and have your paragliding baptism at the same time!

Any mountain area is a good place to fly, and we sure have plenty of them in Salta! Nevertheless, there are other spots for paragliding lovers to come together and grab some air.
This activity takes place only 15 minutes away from the city centre; in the green, jungly San Lorenzo. This village is located in the area known as Yungas, the high-altitude rainforests in the Argentine Northwest. The takeoff spot is reached after a 1 hour walk through this dense vegetation.

The moment of Taking off

After checking the wind and weather conditions, receiving the security instructions and making sure all the equipment is good to go, you and the instructor are ready to enjoy the 20 minute flight above Salta. The good thing is that you don't need any previous experience, just sit tight and let the instructor guide you. You can just relax and enjoy the nature surrounding you.

The paraglider, or gliding parachute, consists of a wing or canopy attached to a harness where the pilot seats. You need a slope of 10 to 45 degrees in order to take off and speeds between 20 and 50 km/h can be reached once you are in the air.
The security equipment includes wearing a helmet and an emergency parachute.
