Cachi tour is a day trip to a beautiful village located northwest Calchaquí Valleys.
Cachi rests on the eastern side of “Nevado de Cachi”, a massive 6720 meters high mountain.
It is bordered by the Calchaquí river whichs is born not far from there, on the top of the “Nevado de Acay”, another massive mountain reaching 5950 meters above sea level.
Its name comes from an error the natives made. They thought the snowy summit was actually salt which is understandable since there are lots of salt lakes area and no one had ever climbed to the top, or at least there was no record of it.
